Product information

This 1966 Gibson J-50 has just come in for consignment! It's a particularly nice-sounding later-60's J-50, with lots of woody thump and the compressed articulation that keeps players coming back to old Gibsons. This guitar works very well as a single-note flatpicker, producing an enviable, warm note edge alongside the coveted low-end thump one would expect from such a guitar. Players interested in a standout slope dreadnought that won't command the price of a 50's guitar should give this one serious consideration.

Condition: we'd classify this guitar as "very good," meaning it only exhibits the expected signs of wear associated with a nearly sixty-year-old guitar. The original lacquer finish shows the expected crazing; and there are a handful of minor scrapes and scratches consistent with regular use. Most significantly, the original adjustable saddle has been replaced with a solid bone one (the original saddle slot has been filled and re-cut). Priced with a period hardshell case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
