Product information

This 1951 Gibson J-45 is as clean as they come -- almost. It was traded in by a long-time client who purchased it from the original owner's estate. The story is that it was unplayed for many years before that point; and its clean condition certainly bears the tale out. Luthier Pat DiBurro performed a neck reset and refret, bringing the guitar into ideal playing shape. The medium-fat C neck feels wonderful in-hand, and the tone of this guitar is all a J-45 fan could want: it's warm, full, mellow, and powerful all at once, with the dryness perfectly suited to accompanying a vocal.

Now, back to "almost." There's a small impact wound in the treble side, upper bout area, that's been patched and finished over. Aside from that, this J-45 really is as clean as it gets for a vintage guitar. If you've had your eye out for a great J-45, with the classic looks and textbook-warm strumming sound they're known for, this guitar gets our absolute highest marks. Priced with non-original hard case.
