Product information

This 1964 Martin D-18 may not be "left in a closet for 60 years" clean -- but it's pretty darn close. It's a great-looking example of an early 60's D-18, and the sort of vintage guitar we like to recommend as a first step into that marketplace: acquiring it means you're getting a great-sounding guitar now, and a desirable piece of Martin's "old factory" history for the future. This guitar has the wide-open, woody crack you'd expect from a great D-18 alongside plenty of sweetness when played quietly. And as a cool bonus feature, it's housed in its original case (which contains its original hang tag).

Structurally speaking, this guitar is all-original. All internal components, including its bridge plate and bracing, are intact and very healthy. The original finish is very clean as well -- it's possible the back and sides may have been buffed at some point. Our shop has reset the neck, and given it a fresh setup. It's optimized for a flatpicker, but plays nicely no matter your style. Price includes the aforementioned original hard case.
