One of Joe Bonamassa’s most treasured guitars, lovingly known as The Bludgeon, was brought to life in 2021 by the Fender Custom Shop in a meticulous recreation by Masterbuilder Greg Fessler. Limited to just 100 instruments worldwide, this release is equal parts homage and high-performance tone machine.
Each Bludgeon Nocaster was handcrafted by Fessler himself, with only 1–2 builds completed per month. In other words: these don’t just look rare, they are. Featuring a 2-piece select ash body with a heavy relic lacquer finish, and a flat-sawn, one-piece maple neck carved to Joe’s favored “Bludgeon” Nocaster U profile, this guitar blends iconic design with true collector-grade detail.
This guitar is loaded with a custom-voiced pickup set from Seymour Duncan: a ‘51 Nocaster-style single coil in the bridge and a humbucker in the neck, wired with JB Tele specs and a vintage wax paper cap for added flavor. Brass barrel saddles, a bone nut, and vintage-style tuners round out the hardware.
This is not a guitar that will sit still. It was built to move air.
It was available exclusively through Joe Bonamassa’s site, and one with the original deluxe hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
