Product information

This feels like a quantum leap forward for the mandocello as a viable solo and ensemble instrument. An articulate voice with great power and ample projection, streamlined playability, gorgeous look, and a sensational build quality.

Please welcome Bayard Blain to The Music Emporium! This multiscale mandocello makes for a rather bold introduction.

Bayard's multiscale approach allows the low-C courses to speak with authority and clairity, while keeping the stretches manageable on the upper, D and A courses. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how natural everything feels under your fretting hand. The sound is enchanting: refined, powerful, expressive all at once.

From the handmade, cast tailpiece to the impeccable, satin finish over a lovely iced tea sunburst, Bayard's rigorous attention to detail is on full display. As impressive an arched-top instrument as we have seen in some time here.
