Product information

We are thrilled to have one of Collings brand new 71 M solidbody electric models in a gorgeous Antiqued Olympic White finish! The 71 M pushes their offset design style further than ever with some incredible specs that has made it an instant favorite in our shop.

There's an evolutionary pattern at play here, with the 71 M almost picking up where the 360 left off; but that's not even the half of it. The 71 M is anything but a "Version 2.0" - it's a guitar with a new voice, a new attitude...a new neck carve! It undoubtedly offers a whole new playing experience that will make you rethink everything you think you know about this style of guitar.

The ergonomic elegance of the solid Ash body combines the "moving" aesthetic of the offset lower bout that glides into a clean, tight waist area with softly flared bass and treble cutaways. This is a guitar in motion, folks!

The body joins the neck right around the 19th fret - a first for Collings, and an impressive one at that. It allows for incredible upper fret access a la Gibson's SG and doublecut Junior models, while incorporating sturdy set-neck construction wtih a clean, smooth heel transition.

The 71 M also features the first-ever "6-in-line" headstock design from Collings, and in no real surprise, it's fantastic in every way. A simple, clean, but effective shape supports both the classic tuner style and modern truss rod cover with equal balance. If you've ever had the fortune of playing a perfectly worn-in '56-'57 Fender neck before, that this neck will feel familiar. The moderate V shape is unlike any carve on a Collings guitar prior to this one.

A unique pair of Lollar pickups bring a mix of new and familiar tones to the table. The Blademaster in the neck position shares its DNA with the Charlie Christian single coil pickup, while the Jazzmaster P90 brings a fatter, richer tone to the bridge position. Direct-mounted into the acoustically resonant body, they have a liveliness and responsiveness that is addictive!
