Product information

The quintessential modern 16" archtop for working jazz musicians and enthusiasts alike.

The Bravo is Benedetto's answer to a problem a lot of jazz players know well: you want classic archtop tone, but the full-depth, 17-inch boxes that traditionally deliver it are a handful to play and harder still to travel with. The Bravo keeps the tone and loses the bulk, and coming from Benedetto, a shop that has spent decades building some of the most respected archtops in the world, that's not a small claim.

The body does the work. At 16" wide and 2½" deep, it's a genuinely comfortable guitar to sit down with (the kind you reach for because it's easy, not in spite of it). A lightweight laminated spruce top and flamed maple back keep the weight down and the feedback resistance up. The flamed maple neck carries a 1¾" nut, 12" radius, ebony fretboard, and 22 frets. A single Benedetto A-6 humbucker handles the electronics.

Acoustically, it's louder than its size suggests, with a lush, open voice and a dry midrange that makes unplugged practice genuinely satisfying. Plugged in, it's the tone you'd hope for - fat and warm, with an acoustic quality folded into the top end that keeps it from ever sounding boxy. If you've spent time with Jim Hall's playing, you'll recognize where this guitar lives. You can pull a rounder, Wes-style voice out of it too, but the Bravo sits a little more open than a Gibson-style archtop, which is exactly what makes it feel modern.

This is the archtop we'd point a player toward who wants into the style without committing to a full-size jazz box, and honestly, it's the kind of guitar that's a pleasure for our own staff to pick up on the rare, quiet moment in store.

Very good condition, with just a little wear around the strap button, headstock from a clip-on tuner, and one long, light scratch on the back.
