Description
If you've been looking for the ultimate, last-one-I'll-ever-buy, don't-want-to-spend-vintage-money Stratocaster, this Lentz Reserve S in Mary Kaye might just be the one.
When it comes to vintage style Strats, the southern California based father & son duo at Lentz are hard to beat. These are very special instruments that are consistently mind-blowing in their attention to detail - the care put in to each build is apparent from the moment you pick one up, you can literally just feel it - not to mention the playability, finish work, feel, and tones.
What you'll notice immediately upon strumming your first chords is the resonance - it feels very alive, loud, and musical in your hands even without the aid of an amp. We can't overstate the importance of the "Lentz feel" - it's everything with these guitars and impossible to pinpoint, but it's addictive and one of the reasons these guitars as so highly regarded by so many.
Plugged in at rehearsal or stage volume? Stunning. Muscular, clear, open, nuanced, huge dynamic rang, spanky, chime for days, etc...we could go on, and we don't mean to gush, but these guitars are just that good. The tone controls also work extremely well allowing you to really dial in the guitar to your rig.
Lentz guitars are considered by many to be the pinnacle of what a traditional S-Style guitar can be. Ask anyone who's played or owned one and it's not uncommon to hear "best I've ever played" repeated over and over... Priced with hardshell case.
