Description
Nik Huber and crew are masters of understated elegance. This gorgeous Vintage White Surfmeister features so many details that may be missed upon first glance, but look closer and you'll see evidence of an immensely talented, thoughtful company at work - silver ring inlays, tastefully aged hardware, a super clean / painted F hole (this is an area that can be sloppy on some builds), a perfectly finished vintage white top with a pop of flamed maple binding, a matte, slightly textured pickguard and switch tip...
Looks aside, the playability, fretwork, and tones are off the charts great. The Haussel-made Tronebuckers deliver beautiful upper-midrange and chime, resulting in a guitar that, to our ears, sounds a bit like a great ES-335 crossed with a Grestch. It's punchy, articulate-yet-warm, can cover a ton of ground tonally (that's before utilizing the push/pull tone control to split the pickups for even more tones...)...it's a really inspiring ride to be sure.
If you're in the market for an exceptional - and unique - electric guitar, you really owe it to yourself to check out a Huber Surfmeister. Priced with hardshell case.
