Just in- another stunner of a Flamingo Hawk from High Spirit Guitars!
The Flamingo Hawk shares its lineage from the short-scale Hagstrom I, among other European and Japanese import guitars from the 50s and 60s, but with an elevated build quality and materials that parallel some of our favorite Fender bolt-neck electrics.
We wanted to go for a bit of a "prototype offset" kind of vibe with this one, pulling in Connor's great anodized guard with a sunburst finish and dark pickup covers. Paired up with a super flamed out Maple neck, it's got such an amazing look!
This Flamingo Hawk features a Chunky C carve neck that has a slim taper for a great balance of fullness and fast feel. Pickups are Connor's own custom wound pickups, and in this case a hybrid set of his Danger Dog and Hot Dog winds. The former is in the neck position and leans towards a Strat-meets-Jazzmaster tonality, while the latter is Connor's P90 recipe. This combination offers up lots of versatility both clean and with gain.
If you want the familiarity of a strat-like silhouette with something distinctively unique at the same time, look no further. We continue to be amazed at how much guitar is packed into these instruments, and they just get better and better as time goes on.
