If you're looking for something with attitude, versatility, and premium build quality that rivals any electric in our shop, the Radar is ready to deliver.
The Frank Brothers Radar stands proudly in Gibson territory with its 24.75" scale length, dual humbuckers, and those unmistakably SG-style horns. Still, don’t mistake it for a tribute - the Radar forges its own identity in bold, unmistakable ways.
Finished in a beautifully relic'd color the Frank Brothers call Yellow Oxide, the Radar is the kind of instrument that invites you to plug in and lose track of time, which is exactly what happened the moment we picked it up.
The Radar’s layout may be classic - two Righteous Sounds made humbuckers, individual volume and tone knobs, and a 3-way switch - but its tonal range is anything but basic. From shimmering clean passages to snarling overdrive, this guitar covers a lot of ground with ease and has a more open midrange and top-end sparkle vs a set-neck/mahogany bodied guitar. It's a bit like the difference between a Les Paul Custom's snappier, brighter tone vs the more midrange-dense, rounder treble of a Les Paul Standard, if that makes sense.
It also brings a more substantial feel to the SG-style platform. The slightly chunkier neck offers a reassuring grip, especially for players who grew up on Gibson neck profiles. And thanks to its balanced body, it's just as comfortable for long seated sessions as it is on stage.

Brand Story
As the Frank Brothers' first dealer in 2016—thanks to a glowing recommendation from Toronto-based master builder Joseph Yanuziello—we recognized right away that these guitars were something special.
Joseph’s impeccable craftsmanship and discerning eye for quality have always guided our choices, and the Frank Brothers' instruments lived up to every expectation.
