Product information

A rare and compelling find indeed, the Vintage Custom '55 Hardtail Strat has all the tremolo-less charm needed to inspire any player, collector or aficionado.

Section image

This gorgeous, non-aged Strat features a two-piece ash body finished in NOS flashcoat lacquer and add a one-piece rift-sawn maple neck with a 1954 "U" profile, vintage compound-fingerboard radius fingerboard (7.25" - 9.5") and medium vintage 47095 frets.

The hand-wound 1955 Strat pickups, with accurate/rounded edge 1954 covers, are wired to a vintage '55 control assembly and five-way switch.

Like the vintage guitars this Custom Shop build is based on, the bridge pickup is not wired to a tone control (an easy fix if so desired). We really like this setup as the bridge tones, while bridge, are more open sounding and can easily be tamed by slightly rolling down the volume knob.

Other features include Closet Classic hardware, single-ply eggshell pickguard, vintage-style hardtail bridge with patent pending saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and a disc string tree.
