Product information

1972 Fender Telecaster in its original Blonde finish just into the shop!

This is one of those early 70s Telecasters that falls more in line with a 50s tele - lightweight Ash body, a pseudo-Butterscotch Blonde finish thanks to some authentic aging of the finish, and a truly excellent Maple neck with a full but comfortable carve. Here's the catch - it won't cost you well into the five figures to land it!

The neck pickup was just rewound by Tom Brantley and sounds fantastic! It's got more Strat-like energy and tone, which complements the power and cut of the original bridge pickup perfectly.

The wiring harness remains original, featuring 1 MEG CTS pots dating from the 34th week of 1966, which is a common part used through the early 70s. The guitar was refretted some time ago with similar size wire, and they play great. The original ash tray bridge cover is also included.

The guitar shows typical play wear via top coat lacquer checking on the body along with various chips, dings, and scratches. There's a dime-sized dent in the top in the forearm arm that is mostly covered in playing position.

This is a particularly great sounding and playing example of the classic Tele spec that's sure to satisfy anyone's desire for a vintage single-cut.
