Martin 00-42 (1935)

Description

Finding an original, pre-war style-42 Martin guitar is no mean feat -- but in this kind of clean, original condition? We've never seen another like it. This extraordinary guitar has been with the current owner for some time, and has stayed perfectly stable the entire time. It's been recently vetted on gone over by TJ Thompson -- though really just to give it a clean bill of health. It plays like a dream and requires no setup work or repairs of any kind. It's crack-free, with all of its original parts and free of any finish modifications. Sound? Muster whatever adjectives you can -- they won't come close to conveying the experience of holding this guitar, playing it, feeling the explosive response and hearing the throaty, multi-dimensional sound. For fingerstyle players, it's a grail guitar (provided you get along with the 1 13/16" nut width). For flatpickers, it's everything a small guitar could be: huge bass, dry mids and fat, round trebles with that decades-old reverby quality. The guitar is priced with a modern hard case, but would fit inside a 00-12 fret Calton too (please inquire if you're interested in upgrading). An amazing & sublimely musical guitar.
