Product information

Get your Melody Maker on with this 1965 Epiphone Olympic Special!

Made alongside its bigger brother Gibson versions in Kalamazoo, the Epiphone Olympic Special is essentially a rebranded Gibson Melody Maker. This is the stripped down single pickup version, with a thin slab Mahogany body, Mahogany neck, and Rosewood fingerboard.

As far as student model electrics go, Melody Makers have become unsung heroes for those that love a "Junior" electric, and have often become favored for slide and open tuning playing.

The original Sunburst top finish is in nice shape, with various dings, nicks, scratches, and lacquer checking we've come to expect with a 60 year old electric that's been played. Check out that ribboned figured in the Mahogany on the back, too! The original pickguard appears to have once been modified for a switch or pot, but was filled in fairly cleanly.

Super comfortable, lightweight, and impressively resonant with some attitude, these Olympic models are some of the most inviting and fun vintage electrics out there.
