This is an incredibly rewarding fingerstyle guitar that takes well to a sensitive single-note flatpicked attack as well.

We sold this Ergo, built by Charles Fox, when it was new back in 2005 and it's been a genuine treat getting to spend time with it again.

Mr. Fox was quite a fixture on the guitar-building scene in the early to middle aughts; and he made a name for himself through his innovative designs and his presence as an instructor at the American School of Lutherie. The "Ergo" was his signature guitar ~ a lightly built small jumbo, with a thin body, double-top construction, and cantilevered fretboard.

All its features just seem to click in symmetry; and as the name suggests, this guitar's tone, relative to its ergonomics of playability, is gigantic and enveloping in the most pleasant way.

Its responsiveness is thick and fast; its sound is shimmery, deep, and present all at once; and its playability is shockingly comfortable.

Overall the surfaces of the guitar still shine like new; and its structure is rock-solid. The top finish does show slight pick wear when angled under refracted light (but to look at the guitar head on - from a foot away - you'd never notice it). Other than that this guitar is very clean and exhibits no significant cosmetic blemishes or fret wear.
