The "Pre-War" series from Atkin Guitars builds on their already-terrific standard series with upgraded tonewoods and a more vintage-appropriate aesthetic. This OM37 features a torrefied Adirondack Spruce top, Madagascar Rosewood back & sides, and a 1930's style V-shaped neck. It's a joy to play, with a responsiveness and neck profile that bring to mind the real deal from the early 1930's. The sound is a pure delight as well. Equal parts power, warmth, and clarity, this is an OM you can lean into with a flatpick and sacrifice nothing. An incredible offering that competes with boutique-level OMs from the best names in the business.
This instrument has two back cracks, which were repaired in house at TME. While they remain visible upon close inspection, they're stable and give us no further cause for concern at this time. The rest of the instrument is "as new" (the distressed finish is factory-original); and with Atkin Guitars no longer taking orders for Madagascar Rosewood instruments, this OM represents a rare chance to acquire a great "certified pre owned" guitar for far less than its theoretical replacement cost. Priced with TKL hard case.
