Product information

We're thrilled to host this Martin 2-24 for consignment. Nineteenth-century Martins like this one are always a marvel to behold -- especially when they're in this sort of condition. To think that this guitar is 150 years old and still serving the purpose it was intended to serve is a true testament to Martin's craftsmanship and the incredible materials from which this instrument was built. This instrument's neck angle remains sound; and it is still very playable with either nylon or "Silk & Steel" strings. It produces a lovely, sweet, and dry sound, alongside the thick response only found in a guitar that's more than a century old.

We rate this guitar in excellent condition for its age. Its structure is unmodified from original condition, and all internal components are intact and healthy. Neck block stamped "C.F. Martin & Co., New York." Brazilian Rosewood body, measuring just under 12" wide. Solid Red Spruce top with X-bracing. Gorgeous wood purflings, rosette, and backstrip. Price includes lovely 1930's hard case, which is also in great condition. This is a beautifully collectible old Martin, which is also enjoyable as a musical instrument.
