Product information

The single-cut Junior: A guitar that continues to defy its original purpose, and do so with authority.

1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior in original Sunburst finish!

KEEP THE JUNIORS COMING PEOPLE!

These guitars - no matter how simple - prove time and time again just how transcendently great they are. Case in point with this well-preserved beauty...

It's a near-perfect example of a mid 50s Junior. Full C neck with just a hint of Soft V to the carve, about 7.5lbs, and a single P90 pickup with nice medium output. This one's stayed delightfully intact since it left Kalamazoo, with undisturbed solder on the original harness, original vintage fretwire, wraparound tailpiece, and Kluson tuners. The Sunburst finish is gorgeous, too!

The original P90 approaches 8k on our meter, and does a fantastic job of retaining clarity and sweetness just as it does punch and upper midrange throatiness. Get your hands on those volume and tone controls and explore near endless tonal possibilities that these guitars are capable of.

On Consignment. Ships in its original Gibson chipboard case.
