Product information

Earlier examples of Gibson's famed Custom Shop Les Paul Reissues have amassed a cult following for their authenticity and Golden Era vibe. If the "Good Wood" Era is factual, it's perpetuated by the likes of this R9 from The Year 2000.

One look at this LP and you know you've got a winner. The top has some incredibly tight flamed Maple blistering through the Tobacco Sunburst finish, and the slab of Mahogany is just as nice. It's got a great playing full C neck carve - closer to an R8 profile, actually - with original frets that are in great shape. And to top it off, it's just a tick over 8.5lbs on our scale.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that the guitar had been previously outfitted with a vintage Patent Stamp humbucker in the neck position - a cool mod for sure! It pairs very nicely with the original '57 Classic in the bridge position.

The guitar shows typical wear found on a 25 year old guitar that's been played, but has clearly not been abused. You'll find typical small nicks, dings, and scuffs, but no significant issues or defects. It ships in its original case with original warranty paperwork and tags as well.
