Product information

A superb modern fingerstyle guitar from a legendary figure in contemporary mandolin and guitar lutherie, Sobell has a voice all his own.

Stefan Sobell is well-known for crafting many of the citterns, bouzoukis and mandolin-family instruments popular among musicians of the '70's Irish and U.K. neotraditional folk revivals. As it happens, he also builds a beautiful guitar, beloved by the likes of Darrell Scott and Mark Knopfler. Much like the Martin Simpson Signature guitars that followed in the wake of the Model 1, it is designed for fingerstyle and vocal accompaniment.

Stefan's design, choice of European spruce soundboard, cocobolo back and sides, and a very thin lacquer finish all come together for a guitar that has a beautifully crisp, ringing voice. Well-cared for by its previous owner, it remains in very good condition. Priced with pre-installed Fishman Acoustic Matrix active pickup and its original Calton case.
