Product information

1961 Gretsch 6149 Reverberation Power Unit just in!

These are super cool and slightly rare outboard all-tube driven Reverb units that were designed to accommodate non-reverb amplifiers, functioning almost like a "satellite" unit of sorts, with its own 10" speaker and power section.

By attaching the included alligator clips to the terminals of the host amp's speaker, the output will drive the reverb effect, and the 6149's power section will control reverb intensity. Think of it a little like an early wet/dry rig!

This is a nice, clean example dating from the early part of 1961, with its original transformers and reverb tank. The speaker is a later Fender/Oxford 10J4 speaker, and the circuit has recently been serviced by Stan Day. The footswitch is also included for remote activation. The Gretsch logo is mostly broken off, leaving just the 'G', but still looks the part even just with the single letter.

**Please Note: All vintage amplifiers and vintage effects units - regardless of service history - contain electronic components that will eventually require replacement or repair. This is often unpredictable and should be expected as a vintage amplifier/electronics owner. We are not responsible for additional service upon receipt.**
