New from Northfield, the EL1 "EleOcto" Electric Octave Mandolin! This is the first one we've had available for sale through the shop, and yes, it is as fun to play as it looks! Northfield excels at crafting instruments that are modern, yet somehow instantly familiar, and the EleOcto embodies that philosophy perfectly. Playability is top notch, with a comfortable scale length and intuitive controls. Unplugged, you can immediately tell this is a lively and resonant instrument -- plugged into a tube amp, the single Seymour Duncan Jazz Bass pickup sounds fantastic in this setup, and does an excellent job of capturing and complimenting the acoustic voice.
