As we've stated before, one of the coolest things about Saul Koll's Super Cub model is that it's the type of guitar that reminds us of why we picked up an electric guitar in the first place. It's so fun to play, easy to play, looks incredibly cool...you just want to plug into the nearest amp, crank it, and go. Great guitars make you want to play and before you know it, 45 mins have passed. This is one of those guitars.

Ultra-lightweight, resonant and lively, the Super Cub embodies what makes models like vintage Melody Makers so great. Take that vibe, put it into a superbly crafted guitar and you'll get where this guitar is coming from.

The medium C neck feels great in hand - somewhere between a Gretsch Duo Jet and a Les Paul Special. Coupled with the impeccable fretwork, this Super Cub plays beautifully and feels fast and nimble. The Mastery Bridge/Trem works beautifully and really allows for some aggressive trem work for this style of bridge.

We have a guess as to what you're thinking at this point - what's the story with those pickups?! They are Curtis Novak GT-V's and they sound incredible - one part gold foil, one part Jazzmaster...they're both familiar and new at the same time. The tones we pulled from this guitar were muscular, full of chime, and excelled at both clean and overdriven tones. Fender, Vox, Marshall-style amps, it sounded amazing through every one. They can do lighter pick/finger-picking playing and can take a beating when you want to turn up the amp and crank out those jams.
