The A-style mandolins made by luthier Will Kimble may be the best bang for the buck in the small-shop world: their mix of old-world tone and modern projection makes them the instrument of choice for many pro players in need of one instrument that sounds at home in multiple genres. This newest A5 has a woody, complex sound that lives up to the Kimble hype. Can it do bluegrass? Sure. But its rich sound and ample volume would turn heads in any sort of session situation. Priced with TKL case.
Please note: the builder kept this instrument in his workshop for several months after completing it. He installed the strap button seen in these photos; and there is a very small fingernail impression on the top near the bass side f-hole. The mandolin is warrantied as new.
