If you’ve been looking for a semi-hollow that bridges feel and tone without jumping into Custom Shop or boutique pricing, the Mockingbird is well worth your time.

When we’re not working with guitars, we’re usually talking about them, reading about them, or watching deep-dive demos, so we took notice when Josh Williams and his Mockingbird model started showing up in the hands of players like Josh Smith, Ariel Posen, and Joey Landreth.

After spending time with a few Mockingbirds ourselves, it’s clear the praise is well-earned. Inspired by vintage Gibson semi-hollows, the Mockingbird really hits a sweet spot: more dialed-in than most ES-style guitars, but still warm, lively, and incredibly fun to play. It lands somewhere between a Gibson and a Collings, but firmly stands on its own.

We love the P90 in the neck and humbucker in the bridge pairing - it’s a thoughtful twist on a classic formula. The P90 stays round and clear without getting murky, while the bridge humbucker brings the bite and growl you want in a semi-hollow. It's a setup that feels instantly familiar but adds a touch more flexibility and finesse.

The .89" neck carve is a great middle ground between slim taper profiles and more substantial '59 styles: slightly chunky, endlessly comfortable, and sure to suit just about anyone.
