Product information

This 2019 SJ from luthier T. Drew Heinonen has just arrived for consignment. The design and model nomenclature may provide a clue as to Heinonen's background. After a stint at Bourgeois guitars, he worked for luthier, Jim Olson, for two years; and Olson eventually granted Heinonen license to template his now-legendary Small Jumbo. Without making too much of the Olson correlation, suffice it to say: we think this is about as nice a guitar as one could acquire if a fingerpicking SJ is what's in demand. The Cedar & Brazilian Rosewood tonewood combination yields an extremely warm fundamental note, with a thick, complex series of overtones. The guitar invites a light touch, and rewards it with a pleasing responsiveness and smooth feel up and down the neck. A fantastic guitar for a vocalist who accompanies themself with bare fingers.

Overall, this guitar remains in very good, pre-owned condition. There are no significant blemishes, scrapes, cracks, dings, etc. All surfaces retain their original smooth luster, the frets show essentially no wear. A K&K Pure Mini pickups was installed by the previous owner. Our shop has given it a fresh setup, and inspected the entire structure for strength and stability. Priced with a tweed Cedar Creek hardshell case. On consignment; expedited shipping required.
