As a homegrown independent guitar shop, The Music Emporium is all about fostering relationships that are grown from the same soil, so to speak. Working with fellow independent luthiers, builders, and small business owners is what continues to feed our excitement, our desire, and our creative energy. We absolutely LOVE sharing these relationships with the world through our little shop in Lexington, Massachusetts. The newest addition to our family couldn't align any better, really.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our good friend and fellow Massachusetts resident Trevor Healy and Healy Guitars!

Finally! One for the bassists!

This is our very first electric bass offering from Trevor and his team - the Healer Bass! Following along the concept of the Healer guitar model, the Healer Bass aims to provide that same sleek look and feel of an offset-style guitar in a minimal yet versatile package.

Essentially spec'ed out as a companion instrument to the Vintage White Healer we received in the same inaugural batch (that very quickly sold), the Healer Bass features a beautiful chambered Korina body and Korina neck with a waterbase matte Vintage White top and matching headstock. Lightweight and balanced, it's a super comfortable bass to play both seated and hung on a strap.

Trevor opted for a short scale build on this one, which sits somewhere in between a Fender Mustang Bass and a Guild Starfire Bass. The shorter scale and 1 9/16" nut width with a C neck shape has a very inviting feel, and the thinly applied matte finish allows for effortless playing up and down the neck.

On the surface, the single pickup configuration is all about simplicity; however, it's deceptively versatile. The Curtis Novak Darkstar Bisonic pickup is set into a beautiful custom-made celluloid nitrate tortoise pickguard, wired up to a two-way switch for coil tapping capabilities along with a push-pull tone cap to toggle back and forth between two values for a different feel and tone taper. The tonal range is spectacular!

Hipshot A-Style bridge and HB5 tuners round out the hardware, which are custom tumbled at the Healy shop for a superb broken-in type of aesthetic.

Up until now, Healy Guitars have been almost exclusively built one by one for each customer on a custom order basis. 2022 marks a welcome shift for Trevor, and an exciting collaboration for us both at that. These guitars are truly special, and we're thrilled to be able to represent them here at TME!
