1983 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop just in!

First released in 1969, the LP Deluxe featured the classic Goldtop finish but with mini humbuckers that were used almost exclusively in the Epiphone line throughout the 1960s. It fused the power and punch an LP was known for with the chime and clarity of the minis, making it a great option for those Fender players who wanted a Gibson in their lineup.

Having undergone a few iterations since, this '83 brings the build back to a more traditional construction. It's got a one-piece Mahogany body and one-piece Mahogany neck just like the '68 and very early '69 builds. One of the most noticeable differences would be the use of the Nashville tunomatic that replaced the ABR-1 in the mid/late 70s.

It's got a very nice playing C neck reminiscent of an early 60s Gibson, and the original frets are in excellent shape. The tuners were changed out for some Gibson branded Grover vintage style tuners at one point, and the strap buttons and jack plate were also swapped out. The original pickguard has a small crack by the fingerboard extension, but it's holding firm.

Otherwise, the guitar is in great shape for its age, with some light lacquer checking throughout along with minor scuffs and dings here and there. It also weighs in at about 9lb 4oz on our scale, which is impressive considering many examples from this period exceed 10lbs.

It's paired up with a vintage Gibson-style hardshell case that is in great shape with all its latches intact and working.
