This Kyle McMillin Masterbuilt Strat nails the magic formula - killer looks, perfect feel, and Poblano-powered tone that’s hard to walk away from.
Sometimes you pick up a guitar and just know. Everything clicks. Your hands, your ears, your heart - they’re all in. Suddenly, you’re doing the mental math: What can I sell? Do I really need a car? Is a strict mac-and-cheese diet a small price to pay for this kind of tone? We’ve all been there. And this Late-’50s Strat, Masterbuilt by Kyle McMillin, got us there fast.
The Aged Lake Placid finish (with a Journeyman relic) is stunning in person and worn in all the right ways. The weight? 7lbs 6oz - a sweet spot for Strats in our book. But the real magic? The neck. It's the mythical “one” that players chase for years. A 60s Oval C with custom specs (.81–.95"), 6100 jumbo frets, and a 9.5" radius, all built from a beautifully flamed maple neck with a slab rosewood fingerboard. For our money, it's the perfect blend of depth, width, and playability.
This guitar comes loaded with a set of Custom Shop Poblano pickups that add a little more heat to the classic Strat formula, delivering slightly fatter single-coil tones with added punch and output, without sacrificing a beautiful and chimey top-end. Paired with the neck and weight, it’s the kind of guitar that dares you to put it down. We almost didn’t (couldn't?).
