The folks at Atkin Guitars built this 00037 on spec; and we were lucky enough to nab it when it was completed. Essentially, it's one of their 00037 models with a couple handsome upgrades: pearl rosette, bound fingerboard, and snowflake-and-diamonds inlay motif. And for what it's worth, the rosewood chosen for this guitar befits a style-42 guitar from any maker! This guitar is absolutely wonderful-sounding; and more than one TME staffer would consider it the pick of the shop right now. The low end is huge and focused for a small-bodied guitar, and the overall voice is incredibly thick and full of interesting overtones. Perhaps the best part of playing this guitar is its responsiveness under a flatpick: it's got a lightning-quick attack one rarely gets from anything besides a vintage Martin, and lacks nothing in the way of clarity. Can you tell we like this one? Priced with TKL hard case.
