Product information

The very distinctive, rare, cream top Gibson A3 offers an uncommonly cool take on the classic, vintage oval hole Gibson.

We have had a nice run of old Gibson oval-hole mandolins through the shop recently, but none can match the distinctiveness of this A3 Cream top. This one is a gem. From the tuners to the tailpiece, it's all there, including the grained ivoroid pickguard, which has survived in remarkable condition. Setup in house, it is playing beautifully and sounds the part! If you have been on the hunt for a great sounding oval hole for Irish, old time, or other American roots genres, this one will stand out in a crowd.

All original, save a replaced bridge. (Original is included.) Includes the original hard-shell case.

Please note: used instruments are, well, used. We pride ourselves on thoroughly vetting, and carefully photographing, each pre-owned instrument we sell, but many of them carry subtle signs of handling that can escape even the most discerning eye. If you have questions about the condition of this instrument, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. We're here to help!
