Product information

The Fender 6G11 Vibrolux is widely considered one of the best medium-powered Fender amps of all time. Notably associated with Mark Knopfler and used on the legendary Dire Straits track 'Sultans of Swing', the Vibrolux combines the rich, fat response of a dual 6L6 power section with smooth midrange and focused top end. Its lush tube-bias tremolo circuit is super smooth, and complements both clean and gained up tones wonderfully.

This particular example features its original Brown tolex-wrapped cabinet and Wheat grill cloth, along with original transformers throughout. The original handle was replaced along with some chassis rails and hardware. The rectifier tube socket and ground switch were replaced as well. There are three holes that were drilled in the chassis underneath the serial number, all of which do not show any signs of circuit modification.

The amp had received some standard service by way of a three prong cable, electrolytics and filter caps by Boston-area amp tech Stan Day approximately 10 years ago. It's currently loaded with a Weber 12F150 ceramic speaker which sounds excellent in this amp. The Vibrolux is also outfitted with a new speaker cable and vintage style single-button footswitch to control the Tremolo.

All in all, this is a gig-ready Brownface Fender that flat out delivers. It needs nothing but a guitar and a cable plugged into it - a total tone monster!
