Product information

This great-sounding 1964 Gibson Hummingbird has just arrived for consignment! We're leading with description of the sound, because that's what's important here. If finish touch ups or replaced bridges bother you, keep on scrolling. But if you've been in the market for a warm, thumpy-sounding, wide-neck Hummingbird that still manages to sound clear and chimey -- this is your guitar. It's very resonant in-hand; and chording all over the neck, whether open or with a capo, yields the present, compressed attack that microphones love to devour. A fantastic recording guitar!

We rate this guitar in very good overall vintage condition. The finish shows expected checking; and there is mild scratching on the back from shirt buttons. There's localized, brushed-on finish touch-up on areas of bare wood near the sound hole. The original bridge has been replaced. Our shop has checked the entire guitar's structure for stability & given it a fresh setup. Priced with a non-original thermoplastic hard case.
