If you follow the boutique electric guitar world, Ron Thorn needs no introduction. A master craftsman with nearly 30 years in the industry, Ron has worn many hats: Fender’s sole inlay artist since 1995, founder of Thorn Guitars in 2000, and former Principal Master Builder and Director of Master Build Operations at the Fender Custom Shop.

Launched in 2024, Thorn Guitars is back and we’re honored to be Ron’s exclusive dealer. Even better, we’ve just received a fresh batch of SoCal C/S guitars!

The SoCal C/S's slightly offset silhouette isn’t just eye-catching, it’s purpose-driven. Seated players will notice right away how the shape naturally balances and positions the neck perfectly. Subtle in execution, but brilliant in feel.

The C/S neck features a sleek feeling C carve (.80-.88"), 10" radius, and Ron’s ultra-precise fretwork with his signature hidden fret ends. No string tree needed, thanks to a calculated neck angle. Anchored by a rock-solid dovetail joint, the neck feels intuitive and fast - like it disappears under your hand.

Ron’s VC-50 pickups are wound in-house and wired for a versatile 5-way layout. Think Strat-inspired tones, but with more range and beefier bridge output. Whether you lean into shimmering clean tones, gritty breakup, or full-on lead gain, the SoCal C/S handles it all with authority.

Last but not least...Ron's original bridge design. This C/S comes with a 2 piece bridge & tremolo which features Ron's "Brass Knuckle" bridge/saddle and ridiculously cool, touch-sensitive, and expressive tailside vibrato. Amazingly fun and responsive and the tuning stability is rock solid.
