As one would expect, this 1941 Gibson J-35 is a lightweight instrument that responds immediately -- and it rewards a traditional flatpicker's attack with thick, well-defined projection from every inch of the fingerboard.

This 1941 Gibson J-35 is one of the finest examples of the model we've ever encountered; and despite a few fairly common repairs, we think there isn't a player in the world who won't grin ear to ear after one strum of this monster guitar.

As one would expect, this is a lightweight instrument that responds immediately -- and it rewards a traditional flatpicker's attack with thick, well-defined projection from every inch of the fingerboard.

The voice is woody and warm, with the dry midrange that keeps record producers flocking back to Gibson slope dreadnoughts. In short ~ a fabulous sounding instrument, with the beautiful, highly coveted tone that makes us wax poetic about vintage guitars.

As to condition: a previously performed, beautifully executed neck reset and refret have this guitar playing its very best. A soundhole pickup was installed at some point many years ago; and the holes left from its excavation have been neatly plugged (soundhole, top, and treble side). There are four small pins inserted in the back, near the neck block area, alongside an old repaired crack in the neck heel.

All the repair work has been QC'd by our techs, who rate the work as top-notch. Price includes a contemporary 5-ply Martin hard case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
