Product information

1972 Gibson ES-335TD in Cherry Sunburst finish just into the shop on consignment!

If you're on the hunt for a vintage 335 and the prices of 60s examples are out of reach, early 70s builds like this '72 are excellent options! Beyond some minor changes (addition of the neck volute and neck construction), the electronics remain largely unchanged from the late 60s as does the hardware.

This is a wonderful example that is all original throughout, and features a heavily faded out Cherry Sunburst top that has almost transformed into a light Iced Tea Burst of sorts. It's a really unique looking natural fade in contrast to the original burst (as seen on the back) that is often leaning heavily in the red hue. We often see this on ES-330s and Casinos from the late 60s.

The original medium jumbo frets are low but playable, and the guitar is set up with a nice comfortable low action for easy playing. The pickups sound fantastic too! The original hardshell case is in very nice shape.
