Product information

Superb acoustic tone, wonderfully balanced voice, and a masterful finish complete this very appealing, handmade archtop from renowned Philadelphia luthier Bill Comins.

Why We Love This

We first met Bill Comins at a guitar festival some twenty years ago now. His archtops were immediately striking, both in their beautifully executed design and in their serious depth of tone. We eventually became dealers for Bill's excellent GCS series guitars, but it has been a very long time since we have had an original archtop hand built by Bill.

This Chester Avenue 17" brings me right back to that first, wonderful archtop. It boasts a lively, snappy acoustic response and that same deliciously full acoustic body that I remember. The burst is next level, framed by rosewood bindings with mulitple fine, high-contrast purflings. Tastefully appointed, to be sure, but the real reward is the sound. This one is not to be missed!

There is a repaired, cleated top crack, treble side, below the fingerboard. Lacquer checking in the top; otherwise very good overall condition.
