The Novo Mirus J is a semi-hollow guitar that melds aspects of several iconic guitars to yield something new for players to create with. Take the basic offset body idea from a Jazzmaster, add a dash of Rickenbacker, and finish it off with the neck (and playability) of a Strat and Gibson-isms with P90s and you get the Mirus J. Sound cool? It is.
With Fralin P90 pickups, a swamp ash body, and a 25 1/2" scale paired to a roasted maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, the Mirus offers a broad sonic palette and playing experience. Think the clarity and chime of a Telecaster, the midrange growl and warmth of an LP Special, and the airy quality a great semihollow. Clean tones shimmer beautifully through Fender and British-voiced amps, while cranked-up settings bring out the punchy, mid-forward character P90s are known for.
Where the Mirus J really excels is in comfort and responsiveness. Even unplugged, it’s acoustically vibrant and lively (and super fun and rewarding). The medium C neck carve (.83" at the first fret) feels immediately familiar - broken-in and fast - making it a joy to play for hours on end, and if we're honest, one of the most comfortable necks available today.
Its offset body shape creates a short-scale feel despite the longer scale length, which makes it easy to settle into whether you’re seated or standing. Lower fret access is effortless, and the upper register opens up cleanly - perfect for players who like to move fluidly across the entire neck.
