The Martin 000-42 was thrust into the limelight when Eric Clapton recorded his best-selling "Unplugged" record back in the late '80s. Of course, his was a 1939 model and had a slight edge over this new version:-) But the style and spec of this modern 000-42 is very close to Clapton's pre-War model. It's a beautifully adorned 14-fret short scale 000 with a high-grade Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. It's got that velvety, textured Martin orchestra model tone with that looser, slinkier feel of a 24.9" scale that makes it a breeze to rip those snappy blues licks or just relish in the soulful warmth it delivers when finger picked. All and all, a worth homage to the original without the steep vintage price tag.
