Product information

Fingerstyle guitarists seeking an entry point to the vintage guitar world can do no finer!

This lovely little 1929 Martin 2-17 comes to us from its second owner, who acquired it in the early 1960's. Despite its modest stature, the 2-17 attracts guitarists (in the 1960's, and now) due to its warmth and depth of sound relative to its size -- and its modest price point relative to the scale of vintage Martins writ large. Fingerstyle guitarists seeking an entry point to the vintage guitar world can do no finer! This particular guitar has been babied by its two previous owners and sounds just beautiful ~ notes seem to leap right off the fingerboard with a dry bloom, and it'd make a great recording guitar as well.

We'd call this guitar's overall condition "very good" for a vintage instrument. There's some noticeable playwear on the top, though nothing unsightly or unusual given that this guitar is approaching its 100th birthday. It went back to Martin within the last two years for a neck reset and bridge replacement (the original bridge comes with the guitar). All internal components and other handware are original and in great shape. Priced with a 1960's hardshell case, which is also in nice condition.
