Product information

A refined take on the ES-335, the Collings SoCo Deluxe Spruce Top offers vintage-inspired tone, flawless craftsmanship, and effortless playability in a striking package.

This 2023 Collings SoCo Deluxe with a spruce top draws inspiration from the classic semi-hollow body Gibson ES-335 but takes things up a notch or two with Collings’ signature build quality, impeccable playability, and a tonal palette that leans just a touch more modern. Whether you're comping jazz, digging into blues, or pushing your amp into overdrive, the SoCo handles it all with ease and character.

The spruce top brings something special to the table, namely, an older / more open feel with a slightly softer attack and a warmer, more expansive midrange than you'd get from the standard maple laminate SoCo. In many ways, it hints at what Collings would later explore with their Vintage Series I-35s: a guitar that simply feels and sounds like it’s already lived a life and is a bit more broken in as a result.

The neck carve hits a sweet spot between late-’50s Les Paul heft and early-’60s 335 comfort. Finished in a striking black top with doghair back, this SoCo doesn’t just sound vintage-leaning, it looks the part, too. If you're after a semi-hollow that delivers without compromise, this might be the one.
