Product information

The Atkin ASJ is far from a "bright" sounding guitar, despite what you've heard about Maple.

The Atkin ASJ recalls the well-known small jumbos of the 1950's; and it features beautiful flamed Maple back & sides in place of the Standard Mahogany. It's far from a "bright" sounding guitar, despite what you've heard about Maple; but it's got all the crispness needed to sit presently in a mix. The low end is downright huge for a guitar this size. And it makes a beautiful, well-defined backup when used to accompany vocals.

This particular ASJ features Atkin's "heavy" aged finish. At the end of the day, what's more important -- being able to see your reflection in a guitar's top, or being inspired by its vibe and sound when you pick it up? Cosmetics aside, we find Atkin's heavy-aged guitars to be drier and even more open-sounding than their standard offerings. Looking for the best small jumbo on the boutique landscape? Look no further.
