A refined, lightweight J-style bass that delivers the signature Sadowsky sound with control, balance, and musical range.

Roger Sadowsky’s designs have always been about taking a proven platform and quietly making it better. Rather than chasing extremes, the focus is on balance - how the bass responds, how it feels in the hands, and how it sits in a mix.

That philosophy shows up immediately in the electronics. The Sadowsky J-style pickups and onboard preamp add clarity and authority without pushing things too far. The low end stays firm and defined, the mids remain present without crowding the mix, and the top end is open and smooth rather than sharp. With true bypass and the Vintage Tone Control on board, it’s easy to dial in a modern active sound or pull things back to a more traditional feel.

This 4-string MetroLine features a slightly downsized J-style body crafted from American Swamp Ash, finished in a beautiful burst. The maple neck and maple fingerboard keep the response quick and articulate, while the lightweight hardware - open-gear tuners and the Quick String Release bridge - helps the bass stay balanced and comfortable over long sessions.

Built exclusively in Germany, the MetroLine Vintage J/J models are consistently light, never exceeding 8.9 lbs. It’s an ideal option for players who want a familiar J-style layout with a refined, modern voice and a feel that stays easy on the shoulder night after night.
