This guitar represents an excellent opportunity to enter the coveted "pre-war" Martin period at about half the cost of a pristine 000-18.
This lovely-sounding 1936 Martin 000-18 has just come into the shop for consignment! It bears repeating that the guitar is great-sounding, since it's firmly in the "player's" category. It's wonderfully lightweight and responsive, as you'd expect a mid-1930's 000-18 to be; and the top is crack-free. The significant check in the con column as it relates to this instrument is the headstock break which occurred many years ago. When the crack was repaired, the headstock veneer was replaced and the neck was likely thinned a bit in the sanding / finishing process (it measures 1 11/16" at the nut, which would be on the slim side for a guitar from this period, and it isn't as beefy in the first position as you'd expect it to be). Regardless of the past trauma, this guitar represents an excellent opportunity to enter the coveted "pre-war" Martin period at about half the cost of a pristine 000-18. Priced with modern hard case. On consignment; expedited shipping only at online checkout.
