The Gibson L5 "Premiere" was an upscale version of the company's flagship archtop guitar, featuring gorgeous tonewoods and a dressed-up aesthetic.
This previously-uncirculated 1947 Gibson L-5P has just come in for consignment! A client of ours who builds and appraises violins was contacted by a family in need of valuation for the bowed instruments in their father's estate. He also owned this guitar, which they brought along to the appraisal. According to the family, Dad bought this guitar in Paris in 1947 and played it lovingly until his recent passing. It is in wonderful, original condition; and aside from a recent refret, and installation of a new pickguard, it looks like it's never been modified. The sound is woody, wide-open and mature, exhibiting all the qualities of an outstanding vintage L5. Priced with its original hard case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
