Built as a reverance to the rarest of the rare - the earliest "Trem Plate Serial" 1954 Stratocasters - this 2004 Fender Masterbuilt '54 Stratocaster Reissue delivers first-generation Strat tone and feel with exacting precision.
The Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 50th Anniversary 1954 Reissue Stratocaster is one of the most faithfully recreated versions of the historic solid body electric to ever come through Fender.
Built by Master Builder Mike Kendrick, this '54 Reissue Stratocaster incorporates all of Leo's first-year designs to a tee, from the neck shape and headstock carve, to the body contours, and even the plastics (including the serialized back plate). It feels quite true to those early spec Strats, and plays exceptionally well. The pickups have that woody, chirpy response with the ability to touch on some of the tele-isms this model was borne out of.
As with many Masterbuilt Fenders, the overall fit, finish, and setup on this guitar is nothing short of excellent. It shoots right down the middle of a typical Strat weight at 7lb 11oz, and shows moderate play wear on the top of the body by way of various small nicks, dings, and surface scuffs along with some light fret wear in frets 1-4. It was previously loaded with aftermarket pickups but has since been returned to its stock formation.
Please note: used instruments are, well, used. We pride ourselves on thoroughly vetting, and carefully photographing, each pre-owned instrument we sell, but many of them carry subtle signs of handling that can escape even the most discerning eye. If you have questions about the condition of this instrument, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. We're here to help!
