This very early Collings UC1 has just come into the shop on trade! Labeled "P-14," indicating a prototype status, this is likely one of the first concert ukuleles built at the Collings shop. Featuring all-Mahogany construction, and sparse, Style-1 appointments, this concert-sized instrument exhibits the fullness of sound and startling clarity which made Collings' ukeleles so coveted when they were in production.

This uke remains in very good overall condition for its age. The body shows minor signs of handling, consistent with regular use; and the headstock shows one slightly dark area of finish (the result of a clip-on tuner resting on it). Priced with its original hardshell case ~ the slightly larger, more commercially available one Collings used before transitioning to a custom-made Ameritage ukulele case.
