Martin's all-Koa flattops are unique sounding amongst their pre-war guitars. Exhibiting the one-dimensional warmth of an all-Mahogany instrument and the enhanced midrange presence of a Spruce-topped guitar, these beauties record like a dream and provide a beautiful, intimate palette from which to coax tone. This 0-28K from 1929 features the gorgeous tonewood associated with the Hawaiian music craze alongside Martin's classic herringbone-and-ivoroid aesthetic. It's in very good condition for its age, with just its bridge, frets, and nut replaced (the new bar frets were installed by luthier Mark Tossman). All other components are clean and original. The sound is excellent, with a particularly strong high midrange (the sound leaps right out of this guitar!). Priced with contemporary Superior hard case. On consignment.
