Product information

The Martin J-65M was produced from 1985 to 1995, representing a bit of a stylistic departure for the iconic flattop builder. Built on a 16" wide Jumbo platform, this guitar combines Maple back & sides, scalloped braces, and a Sitka top to produce a booming, chimey sound. It's an excellent guitar for a heavy strummer who doesn't want a dreadnought; and it also offers a fingerstylist an excellent platform for alternate tunings when clarity and warmth are called for.

This guitar comes from the collection of a longtime client. It shows scattered surface scratches, playwear, and superficial finish wear consistent with a 40-year-old, well-played guitar. Our shop has just reset the neck and given it a new setup. The guitar is priced with a form-fitting hardshell case.
